Kissamos (also Kastelli Kissamou) is a small town 37 km away from Chania and lies between the two large peninsulas of the western Crete (Gramvousa and Rodopou). Locals usually use the name Kastelli (which in Greek means Castle- Fortress). In Kissamos, visitors can find many restaurants, cafes, bars and hotels.
The two peninsulas are definitely worth visiting since the view and the route are amazing. From the Gramvousa peninsula visitors can easily reach the beach of Balos. The beach of Balos is unique and exotic for Crete since it has a white sand and turquoise waters.
